MS. CAMMARATA INTERVISTA

For those who don’t know Mimma Cammarata, she is an Italian teacher at Sterling High School. Many students know her as being a traveler and cheerleading coach but in my interview I try to bring out more personal details that people might not know. My interview with Ms. Cammarata includes the following:
I know you've traveled all over the world, where are some of the places you've been to?
Ms. Cammarata : I've been a lot of places ; Mexico, England but mainly London, France twice, China but mainly the Shang Hai area, Japan, Italy ten times, and Turkey.
Which was your favorite?
Ms Cammarata : Hmm that's a tough one, I'd probably say my favorite is Italy, well mainly Sicily. That's where all my family is.
What kind of music are you interested in?
Ms. Cammarata : I give all music a chance, but if you were to go in my car right now you'd probably find a bunch of Italian and British cds.
A lot of teachers looked completely different in high school then they do now, did you look the same?
Ms Cammarata : Yeah if you see a picture you can definitely tell it's me, you can tell it's me even if you look at my pictures from kindergarten.
What do you do outside of school, for fun?
Ms Cammarata : I love to travel, hangout with my little niece and be with my friends.
Do you have any interesting hobbies?
Ms Cammarata : I actually do photography.
Have long have you been doing it for?
Ms Cammarata : Since high school, I scrap book too but fun scrap booking I don't want to sound like a 45 year old woman in a craft store! I also go shopping a lot.
Which college did you go to, and how was your college experience?
Ms. Cammarata : My degree is from Temple, I also went to Philadelphia University for interior design. I went to school in Italy too. I wouldn't describe it as your typical college experience. I didn't really live in a dorm and go to a bunch of parties, I lived away then came home for more schooling then left to study abroad.
Did you always know which career you wanted to pursue?
Ms. Cammarata : No, in high school I thought I wanted to be a doctor. Then in college I thought I wanted to do interior design. When I went to Italy I taught all my cousins and family how to speak English and I decided I wanted to be a teacher.
If you weren't a teacher, what would your next choice be?
Ms. Cammarata : I'd want to be a travel host on my own travel show, or a photographer for National Geographic only involving travel though.
How old were you when you had your first relationship?
Ms Cammarata : I think 8th grade, but it was a corny relationship it only lasted for like a month.
Are you single and have you ever been in love?
Ms. Cammarata : Yes I am, I've been in love.
Have you ever thought about marriage or having children one day?
Ms Cammarata : Yes and no, I would like to be married before I consider having children. I'd want to have someone to share it with and to help me and be there. So I'm fine if it does or doesn't happen.
What is your number one lesson learned in life so far?
Ms. Cammarata : Live life with no regrets.
Is there a story behind that?
Ms. Cammarata : Yes and no, I wanted to do something and thought I'd regret it but in the end it actually ended up working out. If you really want to do something don't have anyone prevent you, it can turn into a regret.
Is there anything interesting about you or things you've done that people wouldn't normally expect?
Ms. Cammarata : Is this going to be like published?
No it's only for Mr. Carty's journalism class.
Ms. Cammarata : Oh Mr. Carty will get a kick out of this, when I was in high school I did a fund raiser and me and my friend were tag team partners and wrestled someone in jello!

CUTTING TIMES

Although Cutting Times Edge Salon in Sicklerville NJ might appear to be your average small home-town salon, it offers amazing services. For years now I have been getting my hair, eyebrows, and nails done at Cutting Times and each experience turned out to be a good one. The inside of the salon is nothing like the outside. There are cases of hair products, blow dryers, curling irons, and conditioning treatments as soon as you walk in, as well as a seating area with very nice furniture. For your benefit they have a small stand which offers coffee, water, cookies and bagels so you can have a snack while you're waiting. They keep everything clean and organized.

Most of the time, people expect small salons to not give you the best service, but Cutting Times makes sure you're completely satisfied with everything they have to offer. While most salons only offer hair services, Cutting Times offer hair and body services. Unlike many other salons they have the Brazilian Keratin Treatment, which has become increasingly popular within the last year. The treatment is 300 dollars but it solves problems women have been dealing with for decades. It treats frizzy, dry, color-treated, curly, and over processed hair making it healthy and shinier than ever. Their body services include make-up design, tanning, waxing, nail services, hair removal, and lash extensions.

Their prices vary depending on which service you receive but compared to other salons, prices are traditionally low. For low prices you are getting high quality results, so it’s well worth your money! Students even have a student discount which gives them10 dollars off any hair cut. The hair stylists are very friendly, trained professionals who want you to be satisfied, so if there's something you don't like or want to change they'll make sure they fix it before you leave the salon. I was very pleased with their services when I went from bleach blonde hair to dark brown. My hair was dry, two different colors, and extremely unhealthy. By the time I left, my hair was all one shade and felt completely different, it was healthy and soft. They make sure you look good and feel good about yourself before you leave. Many people don't know about Cutting Times Salon but it's one of the best salons I've been to. They know their customers by name and manage to keep them coming back for more.

THROUGH THE WORMHOLE

The Science Channel’s Through the Wormhole, hosted by Morgan Freeman is a very intriguing show, answering questions that have been plaguing mankind for thousands of years now. This was only on for two seasons but the series was fascinating. Instead of philosophical theories, the scientists that have put together this show use hard facts and evidence to help understand and explain some of the questions that people have been wondering since the beginning of time. Astrophysics, Astrobiology, Quantum Mechanics, String Theory and many more are used to decode the secrets of the universe. Even if some of these aspects of science may sound challenging to understand, the producers of this show make it easier for you to grasp the main concept. They display graphics and break it down for you so it’s a lot less complicated then it seems. They give you many different examples and events that are actually happening in every day life to make it easier for all viewers to understand. Each season has 8 or 9 episodes and each episode is an hour long.
They start their first episode with a very controversial topic, Is There a Creator? Is There a Creator takes a different approach to science vs. religion. It’s not saying “there is in fact no god or religion “, but it takes on a larger outlook on life in general. Many physicists and philosophers argue the fact that we did not arrive here by chance. While there are many different theories on “what could have happened “the most fascinating is the thought that we are just a small piece of a bigger program. Is there a creator casts scientists who use facts and evidence to put together many different theories, which tend to diverge from religious beliefs. While many people believe in a higher power as being something like a god, these scientists think it might not be something supernatural at all.
Another episode they star answers the question, Is Time Travel Possible? Einstein's Theory of Relativity says that time travel is in fact possible, but only if you’re going forward in time. Scientists have proven that yes, time travel is possible. To travel back in time you’d need a particle that is faster then the speed of light. Einstein said this could never be true, however, recently they discovered a particle which could travel faster than the speed of light. The only way to travel back in time is to create a time machine, but people aren’t able to do this because a time machine could suck everything into a black hole with the press of a button. So it might be possible, but how do we get there?
Along with Is There a Creator, there are many different episodes in the two seasons of Through the Wormhole that will completely blow your mind. It decodes space, time and life in general. Although the Science Channel no longer casts these series, the website http://science.discovery.com/tv/through-the-wormhole/ provides you with information about Through the Wormhole and gives you a chance to see all of the episodes. If you’ve never seen Through the Wormhole it is a magnificent experience. It opens your mind to more then just every day life. It gives you insight to the entire unexplained universe.
